Welcome to Carp-Trade

The Logo of Carp-Trade

Carp-Trade is distributed free to retailers, wholesalers, manufacturers, fishery managers and others, and is the first, and currently the only trade magazine to specifically serve the carp fishing industry. Since its launch in 2003 the publication has received lots of positive feedback and input from those within the trade, and is achieving exactly what it set out to do. We provide essential business-to-business information, news items and features, as well as product launches, company profiles, interviews, previews, reviews, information and reports on trade shows. Our most popular features over the last few months have without doubt been our in-depth interviews with the names behind the bait and tackle companies, and we have received much critical acclaim for these. We continue to have an open policy on all our features, giving coverage to established names like Fox, Wychwood and JRC, as well as up-and-coming businesses. Carp-Trade offers a unique opportunity to publicise and promote businesses, services and products, and to help keep in touch with what is happening in other areas of the industry. For companies who wish to include their products in the magazine, we are happy to provide coverage in the form of press releases, previews or reviews, so please keep us informed of any news, relating to your business that you would like to share with the trade. Carp-Trade is published eight issues annually.

Carp-Trade
Welcome to the September issue of Carp-Trade. Is it just me, or has the summer just flown by at an incredible rate of knots? It seems it was only a few months ago that everyone was discussing trade shows and autumn product releases and Christmas gift ideas; and guess what – we’re back to that time of year again. I’m sure we should be used to the seasonal nature of our businesses, but I’m convinced that we must all be working harder and longer, or maybe someone is holding down the fast-forward button! For the Carp-Trade team and also the consumer magazine editors, the action certainly heats up as the frequency and volume of new products steps up several notches; we dart around the country to see all the new items, as early as possible, at the major trade shows.             Before I move on to the contents of this issue, I’d like to pose a question to the retail sector of our readership concerning something that has cropped up in conversation several times during the past weeks. My question relates to stock orders and the different schemes that the trade offers, and whether stock orders actually work for you in the current climate. I’m keen to know your thoughts on the benefits and negatives – so please do drop me an email Jerry@anglingpublications.co.uk as I’m keen to collate feedback from several sources, rather than my just own opinions on the subject. Depending on the level of feedback, it’s something I’d like to focus on in the next issue, with some group thoughts on ‘do stock orders work for the tackle trade nowadays?’ I thank you in advance for any information you can provide.            Moving on to this issue, we’ve got some key releases that I will briefly summarise. Pure Fishing are poised for a massive bait release called Gulp! Carp, a release that I’m sure many of you are already familiar with. I managed to squeeze in a full day at Pure Fishing’s Product Innovation Centre in the Netherlands and report the interesting findings on page 22.             The front cover of this issue pictures Trakker Products’ consultant Mark Bryant wearing the new Tundra Combi-Suit. The guys at Trakker are extremely excited about this new release and the reception from the trade has already been incredibly positive. We also profile another new release, plus some news about Trakker’s recent expansion project – all this on page 10.            That just leaves me to wish you all a great September. Happy selling everyone! Jerry Bridger and the Carp-Trade Team.  More

Welcome to the August issue of Carp-Trade magazine, carp angling’s only dedicated business-to-business magazine. As I write this in mid-July, the World Cup and Wimbledon have ended and the Tour de France is in full flow. We’ve been hearing a mixed bag of reports from retailers around the country, with some reporting reduced footfall during the past month, some reporting increased Internet sal... More

Hello, and welcome to the July issue of Carp-Trade magazine. After the worst winter for many years, the weather has finally warmed up and all around the country the carp are busy getting amorous, the trees are green, and the thoughts of the carping fraternity are turning to the (hopefully) glorious hot summer days! The barbecues will be out (with any luck) and the trade should be... More
